If I understand correctly, the C120 may be limited to 2Gb CompactFlash cards, although the release notes on the Raymarine firmware update webpage indicate support for up to 16Gb CF cards. You can see just how often the charts are being updated at the Navionics website with the Navionics Heat map, which provides a representation of the size and the scope of these updates worldwide. Not sure what firmware version I have, but I'll update that as well if it's older than v5.16. To update your card, all you need to do is visit the Navionics website and download the update. My 2005 Sea Ray has a Raymarine C120 multifunction display that uses CompactFlash cards for the chart data, and the card in mine says 2005 so I think it's time to update.
